This is what happens when someone decides an Internet hoax is ‘art’

There’s an entire industry of hoax news sites that churn out share bait baloney to get clicks and ad views. But Clone Zone is not one of them, its creators say: It was founded with the far loftier calling of “commenting” on the news. Until someone used the site to propagate a fake New York Times election story — a story even the Times had to publicly disclaim — you could almost buy the breezy justification that Clone Zone is art, for art’s sake.
