Indian police gets first fleet of drones, uses them to monitor illegal mining

The police in the southern Indian state of Karnataka has become of the first in the country to acquire and use a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The state police is deploying the drones to detect illegal sand mining. For now, Karnataka Police has acquired 12 South Korean drones, which are being operated by 20 police officials in six districts of the state.
