No hamsters were harmed in the making of this recall, but at least 12 gas pedals in late-model Kia Souls were broken. The problem has led Kia to recall 208,858 of the hatchbacks for faulty pedals that can fracture, according to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
