Winder family may be left to foot bill after GSP officer slams into home during high-speed chase

A wild scene unfolded in Winder over the weekend – a Georgia State Patrol car slammed into the front of a house after a high-speed chase, while the renter was sitting on the porch. Luckily, Steven Wilhelm said he was able to jump out of the way and run inside seconds beforehand. “I don’t even think he touched the brake, so I took off into the house,” Wilhelm said. “I no more than closed the glass door and he was up on the porch.”
