PM: I look forward to welcoming Trump to UK

Theresa May has insisted she was "very happy" to invite Donald Trump on a state visit, amid anger and protests over his travel ban. The Prime Minister's spokesman said she was looking forward to "hosting the President later this year", despite more than one million people signing an online petition calling for the state visit to be scrapped. Protests are planned around the UK on Monday evening after the President issued a 90-day ban on people from the seven mainly Muslim countries of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen travelling to the US.
