Team of Toronto doctors performs Canada’s first hand, forearm transplant

University Health Network says 18 surgeons attached a forearm and hand from a donor to a patient in a 14-hour procedure. The lengthy operation, which took place in Toronto, involved a 49-year-old woman who had lost her arm below the elbow in an accident several years ago.
