Former Grand Junction mayor charged with stealing candy bars

A former Grand Junction mayor will appear in court after he was caught stealing candy from a Mesa Mall store Friday. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, two-time Grand Junction mayor and city councilman Reford Theobold was observed hiding several "Big Hunk" candy bars in a file folder before exiting Cabela's. Police say he then proceeded to pass all points of sale without any motion to pay for the goods.
