Ben Carson announces presidential campaign

Ben Carson, a world-famous neurosurgeon and newly minted conservative folk hero, announced Sunday in an interview with a Florida TV station that he is seeking the Republican nomination for president. He will make a formal declaration Monday in his home town of Detroit. Carson said on CBS affiliate WPEC-TV that he is ready to be part of the "equation."
